The purpose of the F.C. Gundlach Foundation, which F.C. Gundlach established in 2000, is to promote photography as an artistically and socially important cultural asset.
The F.C. Gundlach Foundation takes care of the F.C. Gundlach Collection, as well as his own photographic work.
Moreover the foundation works with a number of photographic archives and donations.
The F.C. Gundlach Foundation presents exhibitions in various museums, institutions, galleries and off-locations all over the world. It realizes photographic projects and publishes photobooks on a wide range of photographic topics. In close cooperation with the House of Photography in the Deichtorhallen it exhibits the F.C. Gundlach Collection 'The Image of Man in Photography' as well as the photographer's archives.
Together with the Deutsche Fotothek Dresden and the LVR Landesmuseum Bonn the F.C. Gundlach Foundation has created the 'Archiv der Fotografen / The Photographer's Archive' caring for outstanding photographic oeuvres.
