Library

Over the decades, F.C. Gundlach amassed an extensive library on photography. No matter in which country or city he travelled due to his work as a fashion photographer, a visit to a bookshop was a must for him. He once confessed: "No bookshop was safe from me!"

When the House of Photography was founded in 2003, all the book collections were brought together to form the library of the F.C. Gundlach Foundation. An important part of this library is the periodical archive with around 30.000 issues. Since March 2009, a large part of F.C. Gundlach's library has been housed in the Haus der Photographie and, thanks to the support of the Friends of the House of Photography, is open to the public in the form of a reference library on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 6 pm.
