Collection F.C. Gundlach

Contemporary Fine Arts

Ed. Bruno Brunett, contributions by K. Honnef and others
With a conversation between Wilhelm Schürmann, F.C. Gundlach and Bruno Brunnet and an interview with Margit Mayer

F.C. Gundlach has assembled an outstanding collection of photographs and cross-media works by renowned contemporary artists. For the first time, the view of the medium of photography can now be reconstructed in interplay with pictures and sculptures by these artists. "The medium of photography is entitled to provide food for thought." Albert Oehlen did not want to give the medium any more in 1986 - and thus inspired the photographer and passionate collector F.C. Gundlach to further new acquisitions of important artists from Büttner to Förg, from Oehlen to Polke. In her cross-media works her anarchic will to express herself, her wit and her caustic criticism were formed. The numerous illustrations in this volume provide an atmospheric insight into the spirit of their production conditions and convey the fascinating spectrum of the medium of photography.
