The Library of the F.C. Gundlach Foundation

Over the decades, F.C. Gundlach has amassed an extensive library of photographs. No matter which country or city he visited as a fashion photographer, a visit to a bookstore was a must. He once confessed: "No bookstore was safe from me!"

When the House of Photography was founded in 2003, all book holdings were consolidated into the F.C. Gundlach Foundation Library. A key component of this library is the magazine archive, containing approximately 30,000 issues. Since March 2009, a large portion of F.C. Gundlach's library has been housed in the House of Photography and, thanks to the support of the Freundeskreis des Hauses der Photographie e.V., will be open to the public as a reference library again after the reopening of the House of Photography.
