From the outside it looks unassuming, but our object of the month has a lot to offer. When you open the veneered oak doors of the rather utilitarian cabinet, its interior begins to glow: It conceals not only hundreds of slides, neatly labeled and arranged in drawers, but also an integrated light table that allows you to view your chosen images directly on site.

Like a time capsule, the slide cabinet offers us a glimpse into F.C. Gundlach's working methods from the 1970s. To make a preliminary selection for photo editors, he reviewed and sorted the slides thematically. Depending on which drawer is opened, the light table displays either images on the theme of "Heads" or sequences from the "FALKE 1974" campaign. Thus, Kindermann's slide cabinet becomes an artifact of photographic practice from the analog age.
