In immediate succession to F.C. Gundlach's 93rd birthday, the exhibition GENERATION GUNDLACH opens. Defining works by the master of fashion photography F.C. Gundlach . F.C. Gundlach captured more than four decades of fashionable and social change in his images, beginning with the return of elegance and glamour in post-war Germany and culminating in the liberating movement of free-spirited, emancipated fashion in the 1960s: With his cover stories and fashion spreads in Film und Frau, as well as later in Brigitte, he had a formative influence on fashion and the image of women.

Besides capturing looks, F.C. Gundlach's camera also captured the faces of his time. Today, his portraits of Romy Schneider, Hildegard Knef, and Cary Grant bring stars of that era back to life. Above all, however, the motif of travel stands as a fitting metaphor for F.C. Gundlach's life and work: "On Location," for example in Giza, Beirut, or Kenya, he realizes his masterfully staged photographic ideas.
