With this pre-mortem bequest, the F.C. Gundlach Foundation expands its archive cluster "From Reportage and Journalism to Conceptual Photo Series" with an important contemporary position.

Just in time for the 100th birthday of the Hamburg photographer, curator and collector Prof. F.C. Gundlach (1926 – 2021), the City of Hamburg, Deichtorhallen Hamburg GmbH and the F.C. Gundlach Foundation have agreed to extend and expand the loan of the Gundlach Collection to Deichtorhallen Hamburg GmbH for at least another 20 years.

The F.C. Gundlach Foundation now has a new website . We are testing its operation this week and welcome any comments or feedback.

We mourn the passing of photographer Andreas Herzau, who died on February 6, 2024 at the age of 61.

"Carmen. New York 1958" by F.C. Gundlach was successfully auctioned at the benefit art auction of the Hamburg Cultural Foundation.

Photography defined his life; it was his passion and his elixir of life. F.C. Gundlach passed away on July 23, 2021, at the age of 95.

F.C. Gundlach, born on July 16, 1926, is arguably one of the most famous fashion photographers of the German post-war era. Many of his images are now firmly established as icons in the cultural visual memory.

The F.C. Gundlach collection is delighted to welcome three new large-format works by photographer Nicole Hollmann from the series "Out of Focus", which is also available in book form.
